Guests will drive from Green Bay, WI to Rochester, MN.
Directions
To Silver Lake Park in Rochester, MN from Green Bay,
WI.
If guests arrive before 4:30 PM, they can hang out at the park
or do whatever their hearts desire. |
| 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM |
Get the charcoal grill going and open up the picnic shelter.
The goal is to be read to serve our guests by 5:15 PM so that
they have time to eat and digest their food;
Need: charcoal grills, charcoal, hot dog's, ketchup, mustard,
and potato chips.
Someone noted that putting hot grills in the car is not good.
We could leave them in the shelter and pick them up after
the teach-in. We are not the only group with a key to
the shelter.
Need: a few people to start things going at the picnic
shelter.
People will be bring drinks, deserts, and other potluck
dishes as the arrive to the picnic. |
| 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM |
This is the main time for the picnic. Because we
rented a picnic shelter the rain shouldn't bother us too badly
unless it
pours.
|
| 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM |
Start transitioning to Peace Plaza if the weather is acceptable
and to Assisi Heights otherwise.
Need: a few people to help carry stuff from the bus and
musician's car.
We also need to set up a table for literature. |
| 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM |
- Let people trickle in and greet them. We could direct them to
a literature table for them to pick up stuff to read
about the event and other things.
Otherwise, the music should be playing and everyone should
be having a good time.
- While the music is playing, the stuff needed for the teach-in
can be set up.
- There are 4 outlets that can source 30 amps for power. I have
a map of where the outlets are.
- If anyone wants to talk about Peacemakers or Rural Peacemakers
that would be
cool (5 minutes max) and let our visitors know how to
sign up. Maybe other short little talks would make sense
too. We could steal 10 minutes from the band and 10 minutes
from the main presentation.

will have the candle light vigil earlier. |
| 9:00 PM to 9:15 PM |
Have a candlelight vigil remembering the suffering of the enemies
of our government. The musicians may or may not play during
this vigil. |
| 9:15 PM to 9:30 PM |
